Community Living supports individuals with intellectual disabilities by providing access to housing, food security, employment, and opportunities to be valued members of the community.
As part of the creative team, I helped develop an awareness campaign promoting their yellow bin donation drop-off locations, pickup services, and overall mission—while working within a modest budget. The campaign, “Everything is Coming Up Yellow,” took inspiration directly from the organization’s iconic bins. We gathered yellow items and collaborated with Community Living members for a photo shoot, creating bright, inclusive visuals designed to stand out across social and digital platforms.
By leaning into the frequency illusion, the campaign encouraged people to start noticing yellow everywhere—especially the donation bins in their own neighborhoods—turning a simple colour cue into a powerful behavioural prompt.
The result was a highly visible, community-centered campaign that increased public awareness, made the yellow bins impossible to miss, and strengthened recognition of Community Living’s mission—helping drive donations and local support across Saskatchewan.
